We want to provide all our customers with a handcrafted bag – designed by themselves to meet their wants and needs – bringing them a póchette full of joy to their day 😊
As a small business, we wanted to focus on a top-quality product. Leather has been used for centuries to make bags, clothing and shoes. Leather is also a by-product of the food industry, so by using it, you are preventing tonnes of waste being thrown into landfills.
To ensure that our leather is created in a responsible manner, we have chosen our leathers from an LWG Gold rated tannery in Italy.
LWG Audit Standards are designed to provide transparency and accountability within the leather supply chain. Their audit assesses leather manufacturers on their water & energy usage, waste & effluent management, air & noise emissions, traceability, health & safety, chemical management and how they deal with restricted substances.
Our Packaging
We want to ensure that our packaging is as sustainable as possible, so we have implemented the following:
- Recycled paper boxes for all bags - which can be recycled or re-used
- Recycled paper padded envelopes for smaller items
- Recyclable tissue paper
- Recycled ribbon, which is unbranded and can be re-used
- Fully Biodegradable mailing bags - which will keep the boxes nice and clean while on their way to you, and also safe from rain if left on your doorstep 😊
- Each bag comes in an organic cotton tote bag, which is certified by the Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS), Fairtrade Cotton and the Grüne Knopf (Green Button – A German Government Initiative). This cotton tote bag was also the first to be awarded a Blue Angel for textiles.
